Intensifying The Sport Among African Americans
The Sno-Burners Ski Club was formed as a direct result of the first Brotherhood gathering in 1973. The four founding Sno-Burners were present in Aspen for that inspirational event. From a core of four, the Sno-Burners have grown to more than 300 active members to date and is one of the founding clubs of the National Brotherhood of Skiers, Inc.
Ski Clubs traditionally rate themselves highest when they provide cold trails and downhill races to its members, but not many can boast quality trip accommodations and an ever expanding activities calendar. We have not only run trips to every Brotherhood Summit and Mini Summit since 1973, but also have run trips to Europe and Canada and visited most of the major ski areas in the Western U.S. and New England. We offer an annual week-long season opener at one of the major ski instruction areas, as well as day and weekend trips to the slopes of the Tri-State areas. In addition, we have expanded it to off-season offering white water rafting, cycling, picnics and various other activities in which membership has expressed an interest. |
